Jennifer Lawrence is officially a pop star, whether she likes it or not. Her hit song from "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," "The Hanging Tree," debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 at No. 12 in its first week.

Critics speculated that "The Hanging Tree" would make a splash in the charts and last week it was predicted to break into the top 40 with ease. With lyrics written by "Hunger Games" author Suzanne Collins and an arrangement provided by members of the Lumineers, the song is billed to composer James Newton Howard. It's sung in the film by Lawrence during a key sequence.

Fun fact: Lawrence is just the 13th Hot 100 charter to win an acting Oscar. Her other contemporaries include the likes of Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Meryl Streep, Cher, Bing Crosby, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews.

Though she's admitted that shooting "The Hanging Tree" scene was difficult -- "That was a terrible day," she told MTV -- we now live in the age of Jennifer Lawrence, Pop Star.
